Accompanying persons in freight bookings on ferries from Poland to Sweden

Below you will find the conditions for cargo crossings with accompanying persons between Poland and Sweden, which are valid in the summer season of 2024.

ATTENTION! Remember that with each operator you must report the fact that a child will be traveling with the driver. A minor must have a valid ID card or passport.

Polferries

Polferries operates two ferry connections between Poland and Sweden, Świnoujście – Ystad and Gdańsk – Nynäshamn. For both routes, the accompanying person must be registered as a second driver. Minors are taken free of charge as part of a cargo booking and are guaranteed a cabin and meals.

Unity Line

The Unity Line operator provides two connections with Sweden. These are Świnoujście – Ystad and Świnoujście – Trelleborg. On Unity Line ferry crossings, the accompanying person should be noted as a second driver and is charged extra for as for a second driver.

Children up to 7 years of age travel free of charge on Unity Line's cargo ferries. The exceptions are the Skania and Polonia passenger ferries, where a cabin fee for a child under 7 years of age must be paid.

TT-Line

The Świnoujście–Trelleborg crossings are operated by the TT-Line shipping company. An accompanying adult should be registered as a second driver. The cost of a crossing with a companion is the same as a crossing with a second professional driver. The age of the companion is irrelevant, so minors must also be reported in the same way and are subject to the same fee as adults.

Finnlines

Finnlines operates the Świnoujście – Malmö route. The second passenger on this route must be registered as the second driver. The operator requires information about the age of the accompanying person. The operator may impose additional fees depending on the age of the passenger. Children up to 6 years of age cross free of charge.

Stena Line

Stena Line operates the Gdynia – Karlskrona ferry route. Each additional person accompanying you on this route is treated as a second driver. Age is irrelevant in this case. The rates that apply to accompanying persons in cargo bookings are therefore the same as for a second driver.
