Construction work in the port of Rødby

For some time drives have been able to observe construction work in Scandlines’ port of Rødby. This also involves temporary restrictions in the pre-stowage area and the check-in for trucks.

This construction work is a necessary step in operator’s digitalization process, which will optimize and largely automate operational processing in Scandlines’ ports. Rødby is currently the first of shipper’s ports to be expanded in the area of port logistics, especially for trucks. This will mean more lanes and more space for trucks in the future. With digitalization and port expansion, Scanlines is also creating all the conditions for the deployment of their new cargo ferry planned for 2024 and the associated capacity expansion on the route.

The construction work will continue until 30.06.2023. However, Scandlines is already looking forward to the significantly improved check-in flow for trucks and the much more efficient handling of all vehicles in the port.
