Dangerous Goods Onborad Tallink Silja Ships
To ensure a more efficient and faster cargo check-in process, Tallink Silja would like to remind about the limitations regarding transportation of dangerous substances on their ships.
Prohibited good on all ships, on all routes:
- Coal (non-classified in accordance with IMDG Code)
- Hay, straw, and bhusa
- Radioactive Goods (Class 7)
- Infectious/Biohazardous Classes (Class 6.2)
Prohibited goods, except on Regal Star and Sailor (Paldiski - Kapellskar line):
- Charcoal
- Peat (Note: A maximum quantity of 320L in closed packages is allowed, but prior notification to the booking center is required)
Special requirements:
- When booking UN1361 (Carbon, animal or vegetable origin) and UN1362 (Cargon, activated), a Dangerous Goods Declaration is necessary.
- When booking with a certificate as per required with SP925, please ensure the certificate is not older than 6 months.
- Class 1 goods (explosives) do require case-by-case approach on our side. Please contact our booking office for further details
If the load contains any of the following, please inform the booking center and send Safety Data Sheet (issued or updated within the last 5 years):
- Fertilizer that does not qualify as IMO
- Biodiesel that does not qualify as IMO
- Carbon Black
- Perfumes that do not contain ethanol
- Other potentially dangerous substances
A unit containing dangerous goods may not stay at the port of Helsinki for longer than 4 hours.
