CHANGE IN PORT FEES IN DOVER

As of 1 January 2026, changes to port fees in the Port of Dover have come into effect. Depending on which ferry operator you use to cross the English Channel, port charges have changed and increased by up to EUR 14 (DFDS).

We have prepared a summary of the current port charges applied by DFDS, P&O, and IRISH FERRIES. These fees will be added to every ferry crossing starting from 01/01/2026.

CHANGE IN ETS EMISSIONS FEE

The increase in ferry crossing prices since January this year has also been influenced by the rise in the CO₂ emissions charge under the EU ETS system, from 70% to 100%. This means that ferry operators will incur higher costs for purchasing carbon emission allowances, which in turn results in higher ferry ticket prices.
