The ferry Jantar Unity, which was officially handed over to the operator Unity Line on December 17, 2026, is ready for service on the Świnoujście–Trelleborg route connecting Poland and Sweden. The ceremonial christening of the vessel will take place on Saturday, January 17 at 3:00 p.m. on Chrobry Embankment in Szczecin. Many distinguished guests have already confirmed their participation in the ceremony, including Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka.

The following day, January 18, during an open day, the ferry will be made available to the public, allowing residents to tour the vessel. From January 19, Jantar Unity, in the colors of POLSCA Baltic Ferries, will begin regular service on the Baltic Sea. From that date, a new sailing schedule will also come into effect on the Świnoujście–Trelleborg route and vice versa. The updated timetable is provided just below the article.

The handover of Jantar Unity took place after the completion of shipyard work and technical inspections carried out by Gdańska Stocznia Remontowa – Remontowa Holding. Following the successful completion of all procedures, the vessel was formally taken over by Unity Line. The new ferry has already undergone port and maneuvering trials in Trelleborg, Ystad, and Świnoujście. Tests at anchor, alongside quays, and during initial port operations confirmed the vessel’s readiness for further operation.

Jantar Unity is the most modern vessel of its kind on the Baltic Sea. The ferry is powered by four engines fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG), supported by a hybrid battery system. Instead of traditional propellers, the vessel is equipped with two azimuth thrusters at the stern and two bow thrusters, significantly improving maneuverability in ports. The ferry is 195.6 meters long and 32.2 meters wide, can carry 400 passengers, and features a cargo lane length of 4,100 meters, enabling the transport of a large number of vehicles. The crew of Jantar Unity will consist of 50 people, which—together with modern technological solutions and high safety standards—will ensure efficient and comfortable service for both passengers and cargo.
