Three ferry operators, one brand, and a shared direction – Scandinavia. On March 30, 2026, POLSCA S.A. will officially commence operations, integrating sales, fleet, and route network under the POLSCA Baltic Ferries brand.
From that day on, ticket sales for cargo clients, individual passengers, B2B partners, and agents in Poland and Scandinavia will be conducted through a single, integrated system. The new company combines the potential and experience of three Polish ferry operators: Polferries, Unity Line, and Euroafrica.
A unified route network and shared sales system
The establishment of POLSCA Baltic Ferries is the result of a strategic decision to join forces in order to enhance the competitiveness of Polish ferry operators in the Baltic Sea. The new brand will serve key routes between Poland and Sweden—from Świnoujście to Ystad and Trelleborg, and from Gdańsk to Nynäshamn. Preparations are also underway to launch a new route between Gdańsk and Karlshamn, planned for the first half of 2026.
The integration means not only a shared visual identity but, above all, the standardization of commercial and operational processes. Customers will gain access to a single offering, one sales channel, and a more transparent route structure, resulting in greater availability of sailings and easier travel planning.
“By combining sales, operations, and fleet management, we reduce costs while eliminating internal competition on the same routes,” says Paweł Pluto-Prądzyński, Director of Unity Line Poland. “Previously, ferries from different Polish operators sometimes departed on the same route within very short intervals. While this was justified during periods of high demand, it led to inefficient fleet utilization during lower occupancy periods. Through cooperation, we can manage traffic optimally—one vessel meets market demand, while others can be deployed on different routes where they generate additional revenue.”
11 ro-pax ferries on the Baltic
At launch, POLSCA will operate a fleet of 11 ro-pax ferries providing regular connections between Poland and Sweden. This operational scale will enable greater flexibility in managing sailing schedules, ensure the stability of year-round services, and allow for more efficient use of port infrastructure. It also provides a solid foundation for further expansion of the route network later in 2026.
“Today, the fleets of individual operators consist of only a few vessels each, which significantly limits development opportunities in the European ferry market,” emphasizes Piotr Redmerski, President of the Management Board of Polska Żegluga Bałtycka S.A. “The combined potential of over a dozen ships opens up real prospects for expansion into new markets and the launch of additional routes. Bringing together financially strong partners, with the support of the State Treasury, also means greater financial stability, increased investment capacity, and stronger trust from business partners and financial institutions. This forms the foundation for the continued development of Polish ferry shipping in the Baltic.”
A modern operator with leadership ambitions
The goal of POLSCA Baltic Ferries is to build a modern, integrated ferry operator that combines economies of scale with the digitalization of sales and customer service. The integration of fleets and operational structures will enable the development of a unified online booking system, better alignment of the offering with real market needs, and a consistent strengthening of the Polish operator’s position in the Baltic.
For cargo clients, this means simplified procedures, greater operational predictability, and improved support for supply chains between Poland and Scandinavia. For passengers, it means a broader range of sailings available in one place, a consistent service standard, and the development of a loyalty program. Business partners will benefit from a unified cooperation model and a stronger, shared marketing presence in the Polish and Scandinavian markets.
A symbolic beginning of a new stage
March 30, 2026, will not only mark the launch of sales but also symbolize the transition from the integration phase to full market operations. POLSCA Baltic Ferries begins its activity as a joint brand of Polish ferry operators with a clear goal—to build a strong, modern, and leading position in ferry connections between Poland and Scandinavia.
