Stena Line has entered into a temporary agreement with Irish Ferries concerning the sharing of freight and passenger space on the Irish Sea. The agreement will be in effect from November 20 to December 4, 2025. The cooperation between these two leading operators will allow necessary shipyard works to be carried out while maintaining continuity and quality of services.

Under the agreement:

  • Stena Line will operate the Dublin – Holyhead route with space allocated for Irish Ferries customers;
  • Irish Ferries will provide space on the Rosslare – Pembroke route for Stena Line customers.

Additionally, as part of the agreement, Stena Line staff will be present at the port of Pembroke, assisting passengers during the adjusted route. The charter agreement will also allow Stena Line to conduct planned maintenance work at the port of Fishguard.

Johan Edelman, Trade Director for Irish Sea South at Stena Line, said he is pleased to announce this temporary operational model, which ensures continuity of service for both freight and passenger customers during essential maintenance work on vessels operated by both companies. He added that this cooperation strengthens operational activities in the Irish Sea and helps maintain service reliability. Furthermore, he stated that customer needs are always their top priority, which is why he is glad a solution like this has been developed.
