There are two ferries operating on the Harwich - Hoek van Holland route. They are the MV Stena Britannica and the MV Stena Hollandica. The vessels were built in 2010 at the Wadan Yards in Germany. Both ferries were designed specifically for the Harwich - Hoek van Holland route. The Stena Britannica and Stena Hollandica are ROPAX vessels. This is a combination of a roll-on/roll-off ferry and a passenger ferry. At the beginning of 2022, Stena Line committed the sum of one million euros to refurbish both ferries, with the aim of improving the standard of travel.
