DFDS Dunkirk - Rosslare: cancellations and timetable changes [UPDATE]

UPDATE 21/11/24

Due to adverse weather conditions expected in the coming days, is has been necessary to make the below changes to the schedule over the weekend:

Ex Dunkirk :
CANCELLED - Friday departure 22/11 @ 21:00Hrs of The Optima Seaways.
Next Departure ex Dunkirk is expected to be Sunday evening 24/11 (time to be confirmed) on Friday, subject to weather conditions.

Ex Rosslare :
Friday 22/11 @ 22.45hrs, The Athena Seaways will now Depart Rosslare earlier than scheduled @ 21.00hrs **subject to change**.
As a result of the cancellations - Saturday evenings departure 23/11 ex Rosslare @ 23.55 is now cancelled.

UPDATE 18/10/24

Due to extreme weather conditions forecast this coming weekend it is necessary to make the following changes to the schedule :

Ex Rosslare : Saturday 19/10
The Athena Seaways which was scheduled to depart Rosslare @ 23.55hrs will now depart Rosslare Earlier than scheduled @ 23:00hrs .
Please ensure that all driver accompanied and Unaccompanied traffic report to Rosslare no later than 21.30hrs.

Ex Dunkirk : Sunday 20/10
The Optima Seaways which was scheduled to depart Dunkirk @ 05.00hrs will now depart Dunkirk Later than scheduled @ 14:00hrs with an estimated arrival time in Rosslare Monday 21/10 @ 15.00hrs.
Please ensure that all Drop Trailer traffic check in as normal - Driver accompanied units will commence loading at 07:00Hrs and are advised to check in no later than 09.30hrs Sunday 20/10 in Dunkirk.

UPDATE 04/10/24

Due to essential general maintenance, the Athena Seaways will be out of service on Monday 7th of October and Tuesday 8th of October.

This has resulted in cancellation of the following departures:

Dunkirk-Rosslare
07/10 21:00

Rosslare-Dunkirk
08/10 23:55.

UPDATE 08/05/24

The Optima Seaways will arrive later than scheduled in Rosslare tomorrow morning Thursday 09/05 @ 03.00hrs, the vessel will discharge but due to a lack of berth availability it will be necessary to vacate the berth @ 06.15hrs and return @ 09.00hrs to complete loading. The vessel is expected to depart Rosslare tomorrow morning @ 11.00hrs.

Check in for accompanied driver units will open tomorrow morning Thursday 09/05 @ 06.00hrs and will close @ 09.00hrs.

The vessel is expected to arrive in Dunkirk Friday morning 10/05 @ 12.00hrs.

UPDATE 08/04/24

Due to adverse weather conditions the following departures have been changed:

- departure 08/04 20:00 Rosslare-Dunkirk is moved to 09/04 06:00 (end of check-in 08/04 22:00);
- departure 08/04 21:00 Dunkirk-Rosslare is moved to 09/04 13:00 (end of check-in 09/04 10:00).

Friday 05/04 @ 21:00hrs The AF Claudia – Cancelled sailing.
All confirmed Bookings will now be transferred to Sunday morning 07/04 @ 05.00hrs.

Sunday 07/04 @ 05:00hrs The AF Claudia - loading will commence Saturday 06/04 @ 18:00hrs and will close Saturday evening @ 22:00hrs. The vessel will raise the ramp and sail when it is safe to do so but no later than 05.00hrs Sunday 07/04 with an expected arrival time in Rosslare Monday 08/04 @ 04.00hrs.

Ex Rosslare :

Friday 05/04 @ 22:45hrs The Athena Seaways – Cancelled sailing.
All confirmed Bookings will now be transferred to the next departure.

Saturday 06/04 @ 23.55hrs The Athena Seaways - will now depart Rosslare later than scheduled on Sunday 07/04 @ 14.00hrs. With and expected arrival time in Dunkirk Monday 08/04 @ 14.00hrs.
Check-in will open in Rosslare for accompanied units on Sunday morning 07/04 @ 08.00hrs and will close @ 12.00hrs.

UPDATE 03/04/24

Vessel AF Claudia could not depart Dunkerque @ 00:55Hrs this morning Wednesday 03/04 due to technical problems.

This has now resulted in cancellation of departure ex Rosslare tomorrow morning Thursday 04/04 @ 04.00hrs. All units will be transferred to Friday nights departure 05/04 ex Rosslare @ 22.45hrs.

The AF Claudia is expected to depart Dunkerque Friday 05/04 at 21:00Hrs on schedule.

UPDATE 20/03/24

Due to the earlier delay, tomorrow's departure from Dunkirk, i.e. 21/03, will be postponed to 14:00 (arrival into Rosslare on Friday 22/03 at 16:00).

In order maintain schedule, departure from Rosslare on Friday (22/03) at 22:45 is advanced to 21:00 (arrival time into Dunkirk on Saturday 23/03 at 23:45).

UPDATE 08/03/24

Due to ferry being in drydock and change of oparating ferry on route between Dunkirk and Rosslare, DFDS cancelled following departures:

13/03 00:55 Dunkirk-Rosslare;
14/03 04:00 Rosslare-Dunkirk.

Due to adverse weather conditions approaching, this evening’s departure Tuesday 20/02 @ 23.55hrs ex Rosslare will NOW depart earlier than scheduled @ 22:45hrs.

Due to weather conditions departure 09/02 22:45 Rosslare-Dunkirk has been moved to 21:00. Check-in ends at 20:00.

Referring to the previous information, due to technical problems of the vessel Optima Seaways, the route between Dunkirk and Rosslare will be operated by only one ship in the coming weeks, according to the following schedule (valid until 28/01/2024):

Rosslare-Dunkirk
Tuesday 23:55,
Friday 22:45.

Due to technical problems following changes have been made in Dunkirk<>Rosslare schedule:

- departure 02/01/24 23:55 Rosslare-Dunkirk is cancelled;
- departure 03/01/24 00:55 Dunkirk-Rosslare is moved to 10:00;
- departure 04/01/24 04:00 Rosslare-Dunkirk is cancelled;
- departure 04/01/24 05:00 Dunkirk-Rosslare is cancelled;
- departure 05/01/24 21:00 Dunkirk-Rosslare is cancelled;
- departure 06/01/24 23:55 Rosslare-Dunkirk is cancelled.

UPDATE 12/12/23

Monday 11/12 ex Rosslare the Optima Seaways departed 4 hours later than the 20.00hrs scheduled departure time and departed Rosslare Tuesday 12/12 @ 00.05hrs , the vessel is expected to arrive in Dunkirk @ 01.00hrs tomorrow morning.

Vessel will discharge, reload, and depart Dunkirk as soon as possible with an estimated departure time tomorrow morning Wednesday 13/12 @ 06.00hrs. The vessel is expected to arrive in Rosslare Thursday 14/12 @ 05.00hrs.

Due to the high volume of drop trailers arriving in the port of Dunkirk tomorrow morning drivers are advised to follow the instructions of the DFDS marshals within the port.

As a result of this delay, Thursday 14/12 departure ex Rosslare @ 05.00hrs will now also be delayed, with an expected departure time 14/12 @ 09.00hrs.

UPDATE 08/12/23

Departure ex Dunkirk scheduled for today - Friday 08/12 @ 21.00hrs will be departing earlier to avoid deteriorating weather conditions. The Athena seaways will now depart @ 19.00hrs.

All units are requested to check in at Dunkirk no later than 17.00hrs.

Any confirmed bookings unable to arrive on time for today's departure will be accompanied on Sunday mornings departure 10/12 @ 05.00hrs.

UPDATE 06/12/23

Due to forecasted bad weather conditions, the following departures have been cancelled:

- Ex Rosslare, Thursday 07/12 at 04:00;
- Ex Dunkirk, Thursday 07/12 at 05:00.

UPDATE 05/12/23

The Optima seaways departed Rosslare last night Monday 04/12 later than scheduled @ 23.45hrs, the vessel will arrive in Dunkirk tomorrow morning Wednesday 06/12 @ 01.00hrs.

As a result, Tomorrow mornings 00.55hrs departure ex Dunkirk will now be delayed and will depart Wednesday 06/12 @ 05.00hrs tomorrow morning. Check-In at Dunkerque will close @ 03.30hrs tomorrow morning.

The vessel is expected to arrive in Rosslare Thursday morning 07/12 @ 04.00hrs.

Tonight’s departure ex Rosslare Tuesday 05/12 of the Athena Seaways will depart on schedule @23.55hrs.

Check in as normal Saturday evening @ 18.00hrs for trailers and driver accompanied. Check in will be reopened on Sunday morning at 10.00hrs for driver accompanied only.

UPDATE 26/09/23

Due to bad weather conditions departure from Dunkirk to Rosslare on 27/09/2023 at 00:55 has been moved to 15:00.

Check-in will close at 13:00.

Due to mentioned delay, departure planned for Thursday 28/09/2023 at 04:00 from Rosslare to Dunkirk will be also delayed. DFDS will inform soon about new departure time.
